Charging troughs and charging cars are used in electrical melting plants. They are used for the directed charging of induction furnaces. The charging troughs and charging cars essentially consist of a receiving hopper, a feeding trough and a moving device between the batch make-up and furnace, as well as the control system. The charging car is usually loaded with a magnetic crane, but also fully automatic charging systems with automatic feeding from stationary bunkers into the charging cars are used.
Küttner Foundry Plant Tec. engineers and implements complete electrical melting plants, in which the charging cars and troughs are integral components. Fully automated additive dosing systems dispense the additional hoppers on the charging car.
